Precious Little One

Precious Little One

This layout was created for our October Scraplift Challenge, and I chose to lift a gorgeous grid-style page by Mercy Tiara. I pretty much followed her design exactly — it was just too good not to! The only differences are in the papers and embellishments I used to make it my own.

I worked with the 6x6 paper pad from the Uniquely Creative Heart & Soul collection, cutting small squares from the soft pastel patterns to build the background. I lightly distressed the edges for a bit of texture, and created a grid that went off the page just like the original layout. I even made a wee shaker frame!

I then added a few extra details from my stash, like the wooden buttons and puffy hearts, to finish it off.

The soft pinks, peaches, and hints of lavender felt perfect for this sweet baby photo from October 2012. I kept the embellishing gentle to let the photo shine — and the “Precious Little One” title summed it up perfectly.

Supplies used:

  • Heart & Soul 6x6 Paper Pad

  • Heart & Soul Creative Cuts

  • Heart & Soul Cut-a-Part Sheet

  • Buttons & puffy stickers from my stash

If you’re joining in the October Scraplift Challenge, this simple grid design is a great one to try. It’s an easy way to showcase pretty papers — and a lovely reminder that sometimes, scraplifting can be the best creative kickstart!
